The Mom

This is my first attempt to get this whole process going. I wanted to make a post for my wife and the mother of our four children. This woman is the most energetic, ambitious, industrious, hard working person I know. She never complains, she shows love for ALL her children, her dog, and me, in that order. She likes a clean house. She likes everything to be spic and span. She likes her yard to look nice. She likes her laundry done. In my thirty years of living with her we have never gone to bed with dirty dishes in the sink, (I think I might have washed dishes maybe 10 times total in all these years), her bed is made every morning, she does laundry every day at least a load or two. She folds, irons, and puts it away without ever a complaint. She dusts the house weekly from top to bottom generally after putting a hard days work in for the city, where she is extremely busy every day. She fits her mopping, vacuuming, and toilet scrubbing in there also every week.

She likes to laugh and can that girl laugh. It is contagious. She laughs at me every time I do something stupid and get hurt, cut, bruised, or messed up. She has taught her kids to laugh and they love her for that. Danica especially was embarrassed by her laugh, but now I think they are very similar in the loudness of their laugh.

She loves to camp and go places, but she generally sleeps most of the way to the place. Can we say, "Have pillowS will travel?"

She loves her Savior. She is a faithful church goer. She serves in any calling she is asked to do. She has been a choir director, primary president and chorister, young women's president, relief society presidency, teacher, and activities director. Everyone in our wards have benefited from her endless devotion, service, and acts of kindness. Her primary programs were always the best. The kids knew their songs best and sang the loudest when she was the chorister.

She manages our money, pays the bills, stresses over too much month left after the money is gone. We have good credit and have managed to live within our means. Now that is not to say that she won't occasionally sneak off to Penny's and buy a new outfit or two. Purses - Shoes - oh how many does a woman need? There is never enough days for all the nice outfits!

She tirelessly talks on the phone with all her kids and checks on them several times a day. They know she loves them each and every one, individually, for their strenghts, abilities, ambitions, and desires. She loves them when they mess up too. She has cared for them like no other and they love her with all their hearts, as do I. I couldn't have chosen a more perfect match for me and better mom for my kids. Have a Happy Mother's Day and know that you are loved and appreciated.
